Tonight I decided I would have me a sugar cheat the size of Goliath of Gath himself. This means the cheat was off the charts in more ways than one. I knew the sugar spike would take at least two cups of coffee to level things out. But that’s okay. I love coffee. I also surmised that I would likely feel a twinge of guilt, but my heritage was calling out for chicken noodle soup, homemade bread, and of all things, it kept screaming and yelling at me to make Amish Peanut Butter.
How Can Peanut Butter Be Amish?
I don’t know how, except
that it must have been created by us Amish! It is a mixture of
peanut butter, light corn syrup, and marshmallow creme. That’s
all. It is non-Amish products all mixed together into a gooey
mess creating a delicacy to spread on your slice of bread. It is
so unbelievably scrumptious that you should be sure to be in a
seated position when take your first bite, or you might fall and
do yourself harm. (Excerpt from my book, “For the Love of Benny”)
And So The Story Goes…
…I commenced to stir up a batch of spelt bread. I chose spelt because it sounds healthy. I didn’t say it would BE healthy after generously slathering every square inch of the slice with the Amish Peanut Butter, not leaving even one spec uncovered. No, I wouldn’t go that far because that would be flat out lying. Fibbing. Ah…that is another flashback from my home life. We didn’t say lying. We said fib, fibbing, fibber or fibbed. But that’s a tale for another time.
Here We Go!
All you do is gather these three ingredients and stir them up.
Then spread upon every inch of your bread or cracker!
Enjoy to the fullest! I don’t cheat often, but when I do…bam!
“Oh taste and see that the Lord is good!”
